OVERVIEW |
Delegates are scheduled to engage in the Debate on the morning of 6th July, 2016 at Diocesan Girls' School. There will be 9 parallel debates, with 9 different motions. The purpose of the debates are to probe thinking and introspection on the current education systems that delegates face.

FORMAT |
Four delegates are grouped at random into a team. Teams can be found on pages 29 and 30 of the program booklet.
They will receive an infosheet and their motion on the morning of the debates (7th July, 2016) at breakfast. They will then flip a coin to determine their sides during the briefing, and will then have preparation time of thirty minutes after sides have been released at the briefing. After preparation, teams speak alternately with their opponents to deliver four speeches each, making the debate consist of eight speeches in total. Proposition speaks first. All members of the team must speak. Speeches are capped at 3 minutes with a grace period of 15 seconds. Speakers are marked on content and style. |
